Glass Flip Flops

This crochet project was quick and so much fun! The pattern is from The Crochet Dude. I found myself wanting to make a complete set of each color/bead combo but this is a gift for a friend who has been wanting some of those wine glass markers that hang around the stem of the glass so each person can find their own drink. I decided this way not only won't the guests lose their drink but they won't lose their coaster either as the base of the glass slips under the 'straps' of the flip flop!

Star Tatted Bookmarks

At last here is a photo of the bookmarks I have been working on. They were scraps left over from the 4th of July cards I made and just the right size for a bookmark so I laminated them. But they just seemed to need a tassel and I have been wanting to do some tatting so this seemed like a perfect excuse to tat a little something. The star is from a neat tatted bookmark at Needle Tatting Two.



This is the card that started the star tatting for the bookmark from the card that Carol made. I prefer simple designs as you see by this but it is the thought that counts, right?

Crocheted Purse

The pattern for this purse I just finished crocheting was from Caron.com called Chakra Purse. I substituted Caron Simply Soft yarn in raspberry as I was using up leftover yarn from a jacket that I made last summer. It has a nice pattern that doesn't show up very well in this photo. I chose to use two fasteners rather than the one in the pattern. This forms a nice tight weave so I don't plan on lining it and look forward to using it on some cool California evening...

In the begining

Welcome to This That n Tuther! A friend suggested that I needed to start a blog just on the projects I work on and I thought that might be kind of fun so I set this one up just for that. The name is from my grandmother who was always showing me some new project that she was doing and thus my love of creating with my own two hands was born. My earliest memory being learning to embroidery the first time we lived in North Dakota. I am sure it wasn't easy for my mother to keep me occupied during those blizzards. I was 4 years old at the time. That was the same winter I learned to ice skate on the 'rink' my brother made in our backyard! I gave up ice skating years ago but the crafting just kept growing, each project giving me a background for some future project. I am a firm believer that "nothing learned is ever wasted".

I don't produce as many things as I once did, especially since I began designing silver jewelry (I have a new blog from that as well http://www.silverbyfire.blogspot.com/) but I hope you will stop by frequently anyway just to see what I am up to.
