Another Crocheted Hat

This is kind of odd looking sitting here.

But looks nice on.

And was a pleasure working on.

Periwinkle Hat and Cowl - Crocheted

I think these are cuter on than laying here flat.

At least the sparkly yarn shows up!

I really like them both but the hat especially.
They were both those repetitive patterns
that work up quickly.

The added bonus is that the hat came out fairly small.
I have a somewhat small head and usually
need to adjust patterns to fit.

I thought the tiny sequins in the yarn would be bothersome
but they were not.  A win win for myself.

Sweater Vest

This time I think I have to say this looks better on me than on this mannequin.

At least I am getting to wear it with all this returning cold weather!

More from the Metallic Yarn

I have really had fun with this metallic yarn.
Of course these quick and easy patterns help.

This shawl is really pretty but doesn't show as well in the photo.

This view shows it better.  I can't wait to wear this.

March Walker Decor

March is here and St. Patrick's Day will soon follow.
So of course the walker has to have shamrocks!

A group of three four leaf clovers on an elastic.

They did not photograph well I am afraid.
But you get the idea.

Shamrock Gold

I saw this metallic yarn and just could not resist.

I thought I would make a shawl but did not like it after I got started.
So I set it aside and made this hat.
I had to adjust the pattern some but like how it came out.

Then I decided a small light scarf would look good with it,
and found this green one in the closet
so I crocheted this to go with it.

What goes better with shamrocks than gold?

February Walker Decor

For this month's walker decoration,
I sorted through a number of heart patterns
and selected this one.

Obviously I made three and attached them to the elastic.
They were described as easy and that they were!
I think they have a nice shape as well.

The tutorial can be found here.

I just substituted some red yarn I had and the appropriate hook.

Gingerbread Girl Hats

I finally found a little time to finish these hats.

It always amazes me how much character comes out in each one,
 when you are making several
that should all be alike!

I was a bit concerned the weather would warm up before I finished.
And in fact it did but dropped 20˚ already today
so I think they will still get to use them.

Four sisters.
Ages 6 weeks,
2 1/2 years,
6 years and
8 years old.

And the stockings were hung

I made most gifts this year and kept it simple for a change.
Something I have had as a goal that each year I get closer to.
But they all love gift cards
so I look for new ways to gift those.

This year I crocheted these little stockings which each hold a gift card.
The littlest granddaughters got toys instead,
but I decided the 2 year old may feel left out.
So tonight I will be making one more for her with an old gift card that she can play with.

Dinner is almost ready for me to finish it up so I must go
as the rest of the family will be arriving soon.

Let the others pass the potatoes and gravy,
I plan on holding the new baby!

My wish is for peace to all
and Merry Christmas!!!

December's Walker Decoration

This month's decoration was quick and easy to crochet.
Holly leaves and berries.

I have been down with a bad cold this week and do not want to expose mom
or the other residents so it will be next week before I can take it to her.

She doesn't really remember very often that these decorations
indicate which of many walkers belong to her,
but the caregivers there can immediately spot which one is hers so it helps them
and of course she likes that I bring her something no one else has.
